Is that the same as an Opel Rekord E? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Opel_Reko…
I know my parents had one when I was between 4 and 6 and it was destroyed by a moped driving over the hood as a prank (that is what my parents said at the time).

Almost. It's an Opel Commodore (C) actually, with a slightly different (bigger) engine. But a Commodore C was nothing then a slightly modified Opel Rekord (E) with a 6 cylinder so... Yes!

Dude.. I'd LOVE to drive that one, I had an old Opel Rekord E back in the days with a 2.2 I4 in it (I bet that 2.2 had more power than the 3.3 in this one though).

You would have loved the Group C era of Australian Touring Cars
And yeah, those first three are on the same corner, The Dipper, at Mount Panorama.
That corner is the answer to the question, "Why do Aussie racecars seem to run so much front camber?"

Probaby, though the 3.3 was the base engine. Also available with the 253 and 308 V8s (4.2 and 5.0L)
